Why You Should Be Doing Glute Bridges

The glute bridge is a very simple exercise, however it has several benefits which make it an often underrated one. There are many variations of the exercise, but even the simplest form is highly useful.

HERE IS WHY:

It activates and strengthens the glutes >>> it dynamically elongates the hip flexor muscles >>> it trains core stability >>> it trains the hip hinge pattern WHY THIS IS IMPORTANT:

Many of us humans spend too much time sitting these days. All too often we meet patients who have hip/knee/back pain related to long hours at the desk. The vast majority of them have weak glutes, tight hip flexors, poor core stability and poor hip hinge mechanics.

The glute bridge is therefore a 4-birds-with-one-stone exercise – it doesn’t get much better than that! If you have knee/hip/back pain, try the glute bridge and see how much it helps improve your body. Our caring and friendly physiotherapists at our Chatswood or North Sydney Clinic are here to help so feel free to contact us if you have any questions!
