Dr Zach Dinter

General & Sports Chiropractic

It is extremely satisfying to help my patients become pain free.

In my treatments, I use a range of techniques, including chiropractic adjustments, soft tissue therapy to get immediate pain relief and restore joint mobility and encourage better posture.

I believe rehabilitative exercises are a crucial part of the treatment to provide a long term solution so that the pain doesn't keep "coming back".

Tailored Chiropractic Treatments

We take a holistic approach to chiropractic care, tailoring each session to the needs, requirements, and health of our clients. Treatment may include:

  • Soft Tissue Release – manual therapy such as the Active Release Technique (ART) to address repetitive strain injuries in the back and connective tissues.

  • Thompson Drop-table Technique – chiropractic adjustment using a specialised table with a gentle dropping motion.

  • Spinal Mobilisation – a form of manual therapy where stretching and movements are applied to relieve pressure from joints and reduce swelling.

  • Dry Needling -  inserting thin needles into the fascia and muscles to relieve tension, speed up healing, and correct movement dysfunction.

  • Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation (PNF) – treatment involves a special table that distracts and flexes the spine in a gentle rhythmic motion, especially used for sciatica and disc injuries.

  • The Gonstead Adjustment – chiropractic adjustment aimed at restoring proper spinal disc alignment with the patient sitting upright or while lying on the side.

Frequently Asked Questions

When should I visit a chiropractor over a physiotherapist?

Pain that is localised in the back, neck or hip area can be safely and effectively managed with a chiropractor. In some cases, pain in other parts of the body such as joint pain or headaches may also be related to spinal problems — a chiro can also provide treatment for these areas of concern. A physio might be appropriate for a sports injury, sprain, strain, or rehab after surgery.

What can a chiropractor treat?

Chiropractors are well equipped with clinician knowledge and techniques to treat a range of musculoskeletal conditions. This range of conditions includes, but is not limited to, back pain, neck pain, headaches, sciatica, disc irritation, sports injuries, postural imbalances, osteoarthritis, muscle strains & tightness, and more.

Can a chiropractor fix my posture?

Chiropractors are well-versed at assessing and treating postural imbalances, as well as dysfunctions and injuries that can occur as a result and long term postural issues.

A chiropractor can help improve your posture with spinal adjustments, soft tissue therapy, and tailored stretches and exercises to help improve mobility and stability of the spine and surrounding joints.

While we want to ensure you get back feeling great, we understand that the best results come down to a long-term plan that treats the root cause of bad posture.

What are the benefits of chiropractic care?

Chiropractic can offer a range of benefits, including but not limited to pain relief, improved joint mobility, enhanced kinematic function, prevention of injuries, postural management, stress reduction, muscle strengthening and more.

Does an adjustment hurt?

Not at all! A chiropractic adjustment involves gentle application of pressure and movements to restore a normal range of motion to a restricted joint. Although brief discomfort may occur after an adjustment, pain is rare; in fact most people find having an adjustment relieving and relaxing!

With some adjustments, you may sometimes hear or feel a ‘pop’ or ‘crack’ sound. This is simply the result in a change in pressure in the joint and is a harmless noise.

What can I expect in my first session?

In your first session, you can expect a personalised consultation consisting of a detailed history taking, followed by a comprehensive physical exam to accurately diagnose you condition.

We will then advise a personalised treatment plan for you based on your condition, what you need, as well as what may have worked well historically. This treatment could be chiropractic adjustments only, or a combination of chiropractic adjustments, soft tissue releases (massage, trigger points), dry needling and exercise rehabilitation.

We also offer shorter consultations to cater to those with less complicated conditions, and extended consultations for those with more complex conditions.

Do I need a referral to see a chiro?

No - you can book directly with our chiropractors without a referral. If you have a relevant diagnosis or additional information about your injury, such as X-rays, we encourage you to bring it along to your appointment so that our team can take it into consideration when making an assessment. Chiropractors are a great first point of contact for many conditions, and also have the capabilities to refer outwards where appropriate.

What should I wear to my appointment?

We recommend wearing comfortable, loose-fitting clothing to your chiropractic appointment so we can properly visualise and assess your injury and the problem areas. If you’re a runner, walker, or sportsperson, it is a good idea to wear the footwear that you typically wear when exercising.

What kind of aftercare will I need following treatment?

Your chiropractors will provide you with instructions after treatment — these instructions often include getting ample rest, avoiding strenuous activities like lifting heavy objects, and specialised exercises to strengthen and increase mobility in the spine. Patients who follow these aftercare instructions often see better, longer-lasting results.

How many appointments do I need?

You may start to feel a significant improvement after 2-3 sessions. The exact number of appointments needed depends on the severity of your injury or condition and how well your body is responding to the treatment. While many conditions respond positively, it is not always the most effective way to manage an injury. Your chiropractor will consistently monitor your progress and apply the most appropriate care to ensure a speedy and long-lasting recovery.

How long are Chiropractic appointments?

We offer the following appointments to suit your condition and budget:

  1. Initial Consultation (45 minutes) – Includes assessment and treatment.

  2. Follow up | Adjustments only (15 minutes)

  3. Follow up | Massage & Adjustments | (30 minutes)

  4. Follow up | Massage & Adjustments | (45 minutes) – Extended session for multiple injuries or complex conditions.

Will my private health insurance cover chiropractic treatment?

Chiro is one of the most popular services used by members of private health insurance. At Infinite Health, all chiropractic claims are processed through HICAPS which works with 100% of Australian private health funds. You will only have to pay the gap between how much your health plan provides for each visit.

Are chiropractic adjustments safe?

Yes, chiropractic adjustments are completely safe when applied by a professionally trained chiropractor. If it is your first time having chiropractic adjustment, rest assured that it is normal to feel some mild, temporary discomfort. Chiropractic adjustments will not cause any short- or long-term harm to your spine.

Can I see a chiropractor if I am pregnant?

Yes, it is possible to see a chiropractor if you are pregnant. In fact, chiropractic treatments can provide much-needed relief for the back and spine due to the additional weight from pregnancy. However, it’s important to first check with your doctor as there are pregnancy-related conditions that can lead to increased risks during chiropractic treatment.
