About Tate

Drawing from his experience as a former lecturer in Sports Therapy Specialisation at a tertiary institution, Tate brings a unique blend of academic excellence and clinical expertise to private practice. His educational background enables him to effectively communicate complex physiological concepts, ensuring patients understand their conditions and the evidence-based treatments being applied.

Tate adopts a highly evidence-based yet patient-centred approach, viewing each client holistically rather than focusing solely on pathologies. He respects individual circumstances and lifestyle demands, delivering personalised treatment plans that align with personal goals and move beyond routine care.

His clinical expertise centres on seamlessly integrating exercise therapy with skilled manual therapy techniques. Tate is proficient in soft tissue release, joint mobilisation, and contemporary manual therapy approaches (e.g. MET) that utilise neurophysiological principles to reduce pain and restore optimal movement patterns. He has developed particular expertise in shockwave therapy for chronic injuries, e.g. tennis elbow and plantar fasciopathy.

Beyond immediate injury management, Tate's practice extends into comprehensive training programming and injury risk reduction strategies. He incorporates occupation/sports needs analysis, biomechanical assessment, and progressive loading principles, collaborating with clients to return to activities stronger and more resilient than before their injury.

Tate believes that "injuries and pain do not mean failure, but provide valuable lessons to understand our own bodies better." This philosophy transforms rehabilitation from limitation to empowerment, helping clients develop deeper body awareness and self-management skills that serve them long after treatment concludes.
