Why did Betty become a physiotherapist?

Betty’s passion to become a physiotherapist began in her early teens when she visited the physio tent at netball to be strapped. Now her passion has evolved into helping people find ways to move better and stay active. She enjoys the challenge of getting people back into doing what they love.

Over the years, Betty has developed a great understanding of how the body moves and how to use exercise to help others improve their health and wellbeing. Betty has a keen interested in rehabilitating sporting injuries, as she comes from a sporting background herself. Her passion for exercise and sports injury rehabilitation is reflected in her experiences working with National Premier League football (soccer) teams, Sydney AFL Premier League teams, and local rugby teams.

In the clinic, Betty has gained valuable experience working with athletes from a wide variety of sports, including basketball, netball, soccer and gymnastics. Betty enjoys working with people of all ages and abilities to find the right treatments to help them achieve their healthiest selves.

In her spare time, Betty lives and breathes all things netball. She also plays football (soccer) and follows Spurs in the EPL. You’ll find her training regularly in the gym if she’s not out hanging with friends and trying new food places.

Betty's treatment style

Betty takes on a comprehensive approach to assess and treat all factors contributing to pain or injury. Initially, Betty may use manual therapy techniques such as soft tissue release or joint mobilisation to effectively reduce and relieve pain. Following that, she will use exercise rehabilitation to promote movement, maintain function and improve performance. Her goal is to not only alleviate immediate discomfort but also empower individuals with the knowledge and tools to prevent future injuries and improve their overall wellbeing.
