Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need a GP referral to see a physiotherapist? No, you can book directly without a referral. However, if you have a Medicare Chronic Disease Management (CDM/EPC) plan from your GP, you may be eligible for up to 5 subsidised physiotherapy sessions per calendar year.

Does Infinite Health accept private health insurance? Yes. We are HICAPS partners and accept all Australian private health funds including Medibank, Bupa, NIB, HCF, HBF, AHM, CBHS, and Australian Unity. You can claim on the spot — no paperwork required.

Where is the St Leonards clinic located? We're at 69 Christie Street, St Leonards NSW 2065. We're a short walk from St Leonards train station on the North Shore Line, with parking available nearby.

Can I get a same-day appointment at St Leonards? Same-day and next-day appointments are often available. The quickest way to check is to book online via our booking portal or call (02) 9412 2222

What should I bring to my first appointment? Wear comfortable clothing that allows access to the area being treated. Bring any relevant scans (X-ray, MRI, ultrasound), referral letters, and your private health or Medicare card.

How many appointments will be required? The number of appointments you need to address pain or recover from an injury fully will depend on its severity. Most of our patients experience improvements after 2-3 sessions of physiotherapy. After your initial consultation, your physiotherapist will provide you with a treatment plan that outlines the expected number of sessions and timeline for recovery.

How often do I need a physio appointment? Physiotherapy appointments, whether sports or general, typically begin with 1 to 3 sessions per week. Attending regular appointments in the first few weeks of treatment will allow your Infinite Health physio to monitor your progress, make adjustments, effectively manage pain, and initiate rehabilitation if required. Appointments may increase or decrease depending on your injury, condition, level of pain, and progress.

Is St Leonards Clinic Workcover Approved? Our physios are WorkCover approved and can provide effective treatment and relief for injuries common in the workplace, including strains, sprains, back or neck pain, overuse injuries, postural issues, joint pain, and general stress. If you have sustained an injury at the workplace, you are entitled to claim reimbursement for your physiotherapy sessions. Alternatively, you can send your physiotherapy bill directly to your employer's insurance company. We will provide a comprehensive physical assessment, identify the severity of your injury, and create a tailored treatment plan. Our St Leonards sports physios and general physios will aim to make your recovery as smooth as possible. When booking your initial appointment, please let us know whether you intend to claim Workers' Compensation for physiotherapy.
