Lumbar Extension Strength

What:

The erector spinae muscles lie on each side of the vertebral column, running from the lumbar, thoracic and cervical section of the spine. The erector spinae muscle groups function to keep our back upright.


Why:

1️⃣ Having adequate lumbar extension strength is key in ensuring your ability to maintain an erect spine for every day posture.

2️⃣ Efficient lumbar extension strength can work to deload pressure on your interpretable discs and ease lower back pain.

3️⃣ Improving the capacity/muscle mass of our erector spinae muscles can reduce the risk of these muscles spasming in response to increased/sudden load.
